Ok to start solids: It is ok to start cereal by 4-6 months, but because wheat allergy is common, rice or oatmeal is usually recommended as a first cereal. The type with added fruit and milk is ok. Continue the same infant formula until your child is close to a year old. To give variety, add a different vegetable to the feedings once a week, unless there is a reaction, like rash or vomiting or diarrhea.

Symptoms are triggered by: foods (fava beans, ascorbic acid, soy), drugs (Sulfa), other (infections, moth balls, henna), Breast milk is best, use a non-soy milk formula, begin solids at 6 mos old. Most children do well with avoidance of triggers. See your doctor.
