All testosterone: can be converted to DHT, but topical gels produce consistently normal levels where injections give peaks and valleys, which would probably lead to more DHT. Don't know that there's a proven answer to your question.

Consider nothing: The tests for low testosterone are very unreliable as a true measure of health. Unless you have lost your testes or have atrophied testes you may be getting only a placebo response on libido. There are serious risks of cardiovascular or prostate disease with the use of male hormones. They both cause thinning of scalp hair. The most important organ for libido is the brain.

Same: There is probably very little difference between hair loss due to androgel or testosterone shots, or the testosterone patches (androderm) it is more likely dose dependent (meaning the higher the dose of testosterone, the more likely you are to lose hair).
