It's ok: Ideally you should try to take your medication at a consistent time everyday, but you are better off taking it late, rather than skipping a dose completely. Remember, try to avoid taking your thyroid supplementation with dairy or vitamin/mineral supplements as this may decrease your absorption of thyroid medication.

Less effective: Thyroxine absorption is reduced when the medicine is taken with food, other medicines, or supplements. It is best to take at least 30-60 minutes before anything else or four hours after other intake. Try setting an alert on your phone to remind you to take your thyroxine first thing in the morning.

Try This: I will recommend to patients that they take a pill out the night before and leave it on the nightstand with a glass of water. As most people will wake up before they actually get out of bed, you could take the medication when you open your eyes. By the time you are ready to get up and take on the day, it will likely be fine to have breakfast. Just a suggestion!

No: Can be taking later 1 to 2 hours before lunch or dinner on an empty stomach.
