Can be normal: There are many symptoms that can be experienced during a menstrual cycle and these are effects of various hormones. Other possible symptoms include bloating, back pain, constipation, acne, mood swings and breast pain...

It can be: Sometimes the discomfort we are feeling during our periods may not be due to our periods! You might have a virus (stomach bug). Also, menstrual symptoms can be exacerbated by some meds (like zyrtec & allegra - it can be bad in some people- like me!) Don't take ibuprofen, naprosyn or aspirin if you are nauseated. Tylenol (acetaminophen) if you can take it. Clear liquids if nauseated. If worse-call doc or ER/UC
