Give them time: Your family member is in the right setting. In the hospital numerous tests can be run in a relatively short time compared to the out patient setting. The list of possible diagnoses is extensive and a detailed history and physical exam as well as diagnostic testing will at least rule out the most common and serious concerns. Give them time and if no answer is found, get her primary care MD involved
