Can't see far things: Nearsightedness (myopia) is a visual acuity problem in which a person cannot see distant objects clearly, but can see near objects just fine. His eyes are unable to clearly focus when looking at objects more than about 10 feet away. An very nearsighted person (high myopia) may be unable to see clearly objects only one or two feet away.

Nearsighted: A person is nearsighted when light is focused in front of the retina, thus making far away images fuzzy. This can be corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or surgery. Many people are born slightly farsighted and become more nearsighted as they get older.
