Can't be certain: But one plausile explanation is that you are depleting your iron stores and ultimately will become anemic. It takes some time for young and otherwise healthy people to lose enough blood that the body's iron stores are depleted. Anemia is the result of reaching the end of your body's aility to recover from chronic blood loss, because the iron simply isn't available to be mobilized for RBC synthesis
