Not normal: Based on the distribution of the pain, it sounds like there's irritation or inflammation of the trigeminal nerve, the nerve that supplies sensation (including pain) in the areas you describe (shoulder pain might be referred pain.) Because there are some serious but treatable causes of trigeminal neuralgia,you need medical care.
