Virus is likely: Without a fever, severe pain, or difficulty swallowing, a virus does seem most likely. Salt water gargles (1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water, swish around, gargle, spit out) can help relieve any discomfort, as can softer foods. Things that should get your attention are increasing pain, difficulty swallowing, drooling, or fever. Ibuprofen (as long as you don't have ulcers/kidney issues). Good luck!!

Probably: Blisters in the throat or mouth usually indicate viral infection. This can last 5-10 days.
