Eventually: Best to be re-evaluated by the doctor who have you the antibiotics. If persistent, you could have a tonsillar abscess, and when not responsive to antibiotics, they are usually drained with a needle by an ENT (ears, nose and throat) surgeon. Hope this helps!

Tonsillitis: First finish the antibiotics. Gargling w/salt water ( 1 teaspoon salt in 1 glass water) 3 x a day may help. If after finished still pus follow up with doctor/ urgent care, may need another class of antibiotics. If does not resolve consider ENT .There is persistent /recurrent strep when the bug is in tonsil crevices, then you may need surgery.Make sure no sinusitis, rhinitis complicating
