Can motrin medicine taken 1-2 times a week cause low blood platelets? thanks!

Unlikely: Motrin and the family of drugs called non steroidal antiinflammatory meds typically affect the function of the platelets. In other words the platelets don't help the blood clot as well when a patient is taking motrin.
