Water on the brain.: Hydrocephalus is a generic term for a variety of conditions that result in too much spinal fluid in your brain. This can occur when there is a problem with spinal fluid circulation, spinal fluid absorption, or spinal fluid production. Causes can be acquired, congenital, or unknown. In symptomatic hydrocephalus, treatment is typically surgical.
