Yes, normal: In many newborns the hair is temporary. It is perfectly normal for an infant to lose hair. Some babies lose their entire head of newborn hair. Wash the hair gently with baby shampoo 2 times weekly. You need to leave the natural oils on the skin and scalp. Lanugo, the very fine, unpigmented hair found on some newborns and premies also disappears prior to birth or shortly thereafter. Good luck.
