Food dyes, no worry: Blue color would not be a natural color from blood or body secretions and usually indicates a food dye. Although a food may not be blue, it may contain a blue dye. Look at the foods he has been eating or possibly medicines. Cereals, candies and colored beverages are the most common. Beets can give a deep burgundy color to stools and toilet water without added dyes.
