Fasciculations: You are likely describing fasciculations. If the baby is otherwise doing well and there are no other concerns, they are probably benign. If you have concerns, then discuss them with her pediatrician at the next visit. If the "tics" do not respond to gentle touch or persist several minutes at a time, then a pediatric neurologist may help diagnose and treat her if necessary.

Twitching: Babies have an immature nervous system, and it's hard for them to control their reflexes and responses to stimuli such as noise and temperature.To make sure erratic movements are benign, lightly hold down the arm or leg that's twitching. If the movement stops, no problem. If it doesnt stop or happens when baby is awake, then an evaluation is needed.
