A member asked:

My grandfather died because of hepatitis b, five years ago! so, should me and my family members vaccinate for hepatitis b?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Hepatitis B is only transmitted person to person by blood exposure (not a little bit of blood) into an open cut (not intact skin), sex, or intravenous drug use. So, your grandfather having it is not reason to get hepatitis B vax. However, it is recommended since you don't know when you may accidentally encounter it. In India, the risk is even higher. So, based on that, yes you should get the vax.
