Contains magnesium: Mylanta and similar antacids contain magnesium--the same ingredient found in such laxatives as magnesium citrate, milk of magnesia, (magnesium hydroxide) etc. Aluminum- and calcium-containing antacids, and/or alginic acid products, may have less laxative qualities for you. However, if you find the need to take antacids frequently or in increasing frequency, your "indigestion" deserves medical evaluation.
