Normal: A very common side effect of Implanon use is irregular or unpredictable bleeding. Be sure to keep a menstrual bleeding calendar. If you have heavy bleeding or pain you should contact the physician who inserted the Implanon device.

Wait: One of the most common side-effects of Implanon is irregular, unpredictable bleeding. Like once a month isn't enough, right? The good news is that many women who hang in there stop having this side-effect. In fact, some women stop having periods all-together. If you continue to bleed, see your GYN who can help you stop it. Best wishes!
