Erection: depends on healthy blood flow and healthy nerves entering the penis. Most important in keeping yourself healthy is not so much what you eat but what you avoid. Do not smoke. Keep BMI under 30. Keep cholesterol under 200.

Erectile dysfunction: If a man is experiencing erectile dysfunction, the most common cause is endothelial (blood vessel lining) damage. Healthy endothelial cells produce nitric oxide which dilates blood vessels and causes erections in the penis. A standard American diet (SAD) is highly oxidative and high in cholesterol. These two qualities cause damage to the endothelium. There are foods that reverse this. See comment.
