A member asked:

Would an urgent care center do a skin biopsy for skin cancer if requested?

No, generally not: An urgent care center is not intended to be a place where skin biopsies are done. Dermatologists, and some primary care doctors, do skin biopsies... and the patient returns to the doctor later to discuss the results of biopsies. Urgent care centers are for treating new illnesses such as a stomach flu, colds and coughs, rashes such as poison oak or hives, etc...

The should: Most urgent care centers would be able to perform a skin biopsy. My office is in Beverly Hills if you cannot find someone to perform the biopsy. www.RoxCancerCenter.com

Urgent Care: May or may not do a biopsy. They might refer you to someone who would. You would have to ask the Urgent Care.
