Yes: Yes they are. There's no contraindication to using them in pregnancy.

Many OBs say yes: While ricola drops do contain three herbs which are less than ideal for use in pregnancy: elder, hyssop and horehound. They are in concentrations so low as to be really of minimal concern, which what the OB's I've worked with have said. As long as you are "popping" them like candy you will likely be fine. Ricola is safe: Ricola, Halls, Cepacol, and Theraflu are common over the counter cold medications safe to use during pregnancy according to most ObGyns. Whenever unsure, it is wise to ask your Obstetrician.

Avoid while pregnant: Ricola contains menthol, and an herb mixture (elder, horehound, hyssop, lemon balm, linden flowers, mallow, peppermint, sage, thyme, wild thyme), peppermint oil, starch syrup, sugar). I found (Reference: BJOG Vol 109, Issue 3, March 2002, pp 227–235) that horehound, hyssop and sage can promote menses & abort the pregnancy. Peppermint and thyme can promote menses. Please avoid Ricola while pregnant
