Abnormal weight gain: Unintentional weight gain in the absence of increased calorie intake or exercise pattern changes can be caused by a number of hormonal (thyroid disease, menopause, polycystic ovaries, excess cortisol), neoplastic (ovarian cancer), psychological (depression, mood disorder), cardiac (ccongestive heart failure) and metabolic (diabetes, liver disease, kidney failure). Big list! Time to get checked.
