How can i tell if a wound is infected or not? if it is infected, do i need to go to an er? i am terrified of getting mrsa or sepsis.

Pain fever abscess: Pain. Increasingly red, swollen, irritated skin. Presence of pus or abscess. Fever.

Must be seen: The only way to determine whether your wound is infected or not is to have a medical professional examine it. This could be your own physician, an urgent care facility or an ER. My preference would be in the order listed.
