Stress hormones?: When you get worked up you release stress hormones that accelerate your heart rate and prepares your body to respond to an external threat. The symptoms you feel are a response to that rush of stress hormone. When you relax, the hormone level goes down and your symptoms resolve. You need to seek out ways of calming yourself when you experience upsetting situations so as not to get so worked up.
