Pain and numbness: your pain & numbness in your left leg may be related to a lower back or lumbar disc herniation or bulging disc. The left arm numbness may be unrelated to your back/leg problem. I would avoid heavy lifting or strenuous exercise and first try an anti inflammatory drug like Advil or Aleve (naproxen). If your symptoms do not resolve in a few days I would see your doctor; go sooner if you are feeling worse

See doctor: You might have a problem with your spinal cord or the roots that come off it. You need to get seen by a health care provider as soon as convenient. If you also have weakness or if you develop incontinence, the situation is more urgent and should be seen the same day.
