Hello, i would like to understand the reasons why i got my period 18 days after starting my last cycle?

Vaginal bleeding: Would do a pregnancy test as a first step. Other causes can be hormonal ,stress, travel, medications, polyps, fibroids, ovarian/uterine/pituitary dysfunction or tumors and peri-menopausal bleeding. Since you are 40 if the pregnancy test is negative I would seek medical attention.
