Three things: 1. In order to get pregnant you have to ovulate. With irregular periods this requires testing. 2. Your partners semen has to be healthy. 3. There has to be an open pathway through your Fallopian tubes to allow the sperm to reach the egg. All of these can be tested if you are having fertility problems.
