Yes!: Alcohol, like some anti-inflammatory medications, can irritate the stomach lining and worsen stomach ulcers. One should not drink alcohol if diagnosed with an ulcer, gastritis, or other stomach acid issue.

Yes: Alcohol, smoking, caffeine, spicy meal may aggravate gastritis with or without ulcer. Motrin/aspirin(nsaid) and h pylori are believed to be the cause for ulcers. Discuss with GI about your treatment. Fyi ulcers are diagnosed by scoping you stomach (egd), no doctor can tell you you have ulcer by a simple physical exam. Consult w your doctor.
