Blood clots: Passing blood clots occasionally during your period may be normal but when this becomes a regular occurrence you need to see your doctor as various problems may be the cause of this such as fibroid, pregnancy,hormonal changes etc.Your blood count would need to be checked also to make sure you are not anemic

Normal: Sometimes in a cycle the uterus needs a deeper cleaning. This older de-oxygenated blood is brown. It is normal.
