No: Seborrheic dermatitis doesn't cause hair loss. Tinea capitis, a fungal scalp infection, can often mimic seborrhea, and it does cause hair loss. It requires oral antifungal therapy, usually for a few weeks. There are other less common conditions that can also cause localized hair loss. Talk to a dermatologist if possible.

No: Seborrheic dermatitis does not cause hair loss, but there are other skin conditions that can do that. Hair loss can also be caused by underlying medical problems, like a thyroid disorder, or can be caused by medications. You should see a dermatologist to have this checked out.
