Herpes simplex: The incubation period is the time from exposure to the appearance of symptoms and averages 2-12 days. If you are asymptomatic at 21 days the overwhelming chances are that you will remain that way. Good luck.

Herpes: Since 75% of Americans have Herpes you should first get a blood test to prove you do not have this infection already. Second, 90% of those who get infected never have a sore or outbreak but still are infected. If you are negative to begin then three to six weeks after an infection an IgM antibody test should be valid.
