No: Folic acid is beneficial especially if you are trying to get pregnant (it helps to prevent certain types of birth defects). I am not aware of any medical reason for someone to stop taking it during her period.

NO: Folic Acid, being a water-soluble vitamin, can not be stored by our bodies, so we need folic acid every day; you may need it even more when you are on your period! Over 1/3 of people can not convert folic acid to the active form, L-5-MTHF, so it may be wise to take that form of folate.
