Black substance: Any time someone vomits dark/black substance that appears like coffee grounds that they did not ingest - it suggests they are vomiting digested blood usually from bleeding in the stomach. Black tarry stools that are loose suggest severe bleeding in bowel tract. This is an emergency. Get to the doctor.
