Should be fine: very rare to develop adrenal insufficiency from dose taper like what you describe. If u have been in repeated tapers of such, throughout the year, then the likelihood would go up, but once in a blue moon-every 6 months, for example, no biggie.

Totally safe!: Hi. Yes, a prednisone taper such as you describe is 100% safe. Can't say if it was effective, because you don't even tell us what your doc is/was treating. But a taper of those doses over that time is 110% safe. And "adrenal necrosis" is NEVER an issue with a glucocorticoid burst & taper! It's pituitary corticotroph suppression we worry about with prolonged high-dose glucocorticoid therapy. Cheers
