Post partum bleeding: It is common for bleeding to occur for a month or more after childbirth, secondary to reversal of the thickened lining of the womb back to a normal level (like having a "prolonged period" ). Red spotting at six weeks can indicate ovulation or the beginning of a "period". If it continues, see your obstetric profassional for advice, which may involve having an ultrasound test.
