What is your opinion on spanx-type shapewear?

Great product: Spanx while having no real medical benefit can help to shape a persons body under clothes.

Pros/Cons: Spanx can be found at most local department stores so people can actually see them and try them on before buying. They aren't inexpensive. Medical grade compression garments have zippers making them easier to get on and off when used after cosmetic surgery.
