Pharyngitis from HIV: I think you are asking about the 'acute retroviral syndrome' wherein a person is newly infected with HIV. That illness can have a sore throat symptom for one week or more. In fact, acute HIV can be alot like mono - feeling wiped out, fevers, lymph node swelling, and maybe even some rash. Hopefully you can get checked by a doctor. At least now there is good treatment available out there. Hope ur OK
