A member asked:

How common is hiv in teens in the state of pa??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Teenage HIV in PA: Adolescents ages 15-24 account for nearly half of the 20 million new cases of sexually transmitted diseases each year in the U.S. [CDC]. So this data indicates 'it's not just HIV' you have to be aware of. For the State of PA, teens made up 5% of new infections in 2012 - and that was almost 1,500 cases. This doesn't count those who are living with the virus. (Stats from PA Dept of health). Be safe!
