Metoprolol: Generally the pharmacy will call your Doc and see if the Doc has a preference.

Depends: The succinate form is generally longer acting, so is usually dosed to take once per day. The tartrate form is shorter acting so is usually taken twice per day. You should call your doctor to clarify. Best wishes.
