Clarification: I'm not quite sure what you mean...the main symptoms of ringworm are what it looks like so if it looks like ringworm then why couldn't it actually be ringworm??

Similar appearances: RIngworm lesions can easily be confused with eczema. Both may have a red ring with a lighter colored area in the center and both may be itchy with some flaking of skin. Ringworm is treated with an antifungal cream and eczema is treated with a steroid cream. Steroid cream applied to ringworm may make it worse. A doctor can test skin scrapings to distinguish between them.
