Yes: You should know if you are a carrier. Your children were likely tested at birth thru routine newborn screening. Most if not all states test everyone for the disease. Carriers are not detected on the screen. Talk to your pediatrician. If your kids are healthy, they don't have the disease, but could still be carriers.
