A member asked:

I recently quit drinking alcohol and am taking up more exercise. this month my period is brigher and a bit lighter, is this a normal reaction?

Yes: Congratulations on quitting! Alcohol affects the liver which is involved in blood clotting. It also causes weight gain and fat cells produce estrogen. As your body becomes thinner, more lean and alcohol-free your whole body chemistry will adjust. It can take 6-12 months for the adjustments to take place.
