Not that much: but it does lower your concentration/dexterity/learning ability/mental function. Furthermore, there is an increasing amount of data that it messes up your entire metabolism and might be a risk factor for diabetes.

No: Sleep deprivation doesn't kill brain cells but it does cause the brain to function less effectively and to malfunction. You should talk to your doctor about your sleep patterns and how to improve that. At 20 years old you should get from 6-8 hours a night minimum. Factors to consider - work/school schedule, stress, video games / tv, alcohol/drug use.
