Mucoid degeneration on the knee. what is it exactly and could it be caused by sudden impact. fell 2/14 and it was on mri in march?

More information?: Do you know if the mucoid degeneration was specifically seen on the ACL or on one of the menisci? This is not a very common finding. Basically it is injury or loss of functional synovial lining protecting the ACL or meniscus and often there isn't an identifiable injury preceding it. Arthroscopy is often successful at repairing it. Often there is limited flexion of the knee.
