Obstipation: Your colon gets sludge from the small intestine, absorbs out water. Constipation is b/c the body doesn't take in enough water so sludge thickens & time between bowel movements is delayed till more sludge forces out the thick, hard stool. Obstipation is when the stool is too dry to move so new sludge is forced past the hardened stool & comes out like diarrhea. Obstipation usu. needs medical Tx.
