A member asked:

When i was on the depo-provera shot it made me have bad lower back cramps, that i didn't have before i was on it. what is that from?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depoprovera: The depoprovera shot is for birth control, and should not be used for longer than 2-3 years continuously. The shot is long acting progesterone, and that hormone may allow occasional ovulation, but even if one has an occasional period, it is usually very seldom. Otherwise low back pain is not usually related to depoprovera shots.
