Reflux: Many things can cause this, but the symptoms you describe, could easily be explained by gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD). The acid in your stomach may be allowed to climb your esophagus (feeding tube), when you lie flat. It could irritate your wind pipe. See your physician for an examination and possible treatment options. Call 911 if develop shortness of breath.
