What can i do to relieve inguinal hernia pain before my surgery next week? will ice or paracetamol help?

See answer: Ice/or heat are sometime beneficial, and what works best for you,.."is best for you." Acetaminophen may help, BUT remember, you are son to have surgery, so truly you need to call the surgeon and ask him/her all the questions as you ask here, They need to document what meds you are on, the pain you are having etc. They may not want you taking any NSAIDs or aspirin as they may increase bleed risk.

Yes: Ice or acetaminophen (paracetamol to those of you across the Atlantic) will help. Avoid heavy lifting (more than 10 or 15 lbs), and if the hernia gets stuck out (we call this "incarcerated"), go to an ER as it may need to be emergently reduced. Hope this helps!
