Repeat hpt: Fertilization generally occurs in one of the follopian tubes. Then is moved to the uterus where it implants in the uterine wall. This can take 7-10 days to occur. Only after implantation does the body produce Hcg, which is what causes a pregnancy test to become positive. Repeat an hpt 7-10 days after the first one. If it is still negative, you are probably not pregnant.
