When should you have a sprained ankle rechecked?

Depends: If it's healing well then you don't have to be rechecked - most will heal completely within 4-6 weeks. If you are unable to wean off crutches because of pain with weightbearing after 7 days then I would be rechecked.

6 weeks.: In our practice, ankle sprains participate in physical therapy for 3 times per week for 6 weeks. Then we re-evaluate the patient.

Depends: It can depend on how severe the sprain. I may see a serious ankle sprain back in the office in one week to monitor swelling, whereas a less severe ankle sprain I may not see back for 4 weeks.
